Sweet Sam Kisling is a Portland-based guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader whose music blends blues grit, soul warmth, Americana storytelling, and vintage rock ’n’ roll energy. After years of solo projects, studio work, and steady gigging, Sam’s current chapter — The Sweet Sam Band — brings his full sound to life with a rotating lineup of seasoned Northwest musicians.

Known for his versatility, Sam can perform solo, in small ensemble formats, or with his full four-piece band, tailoring each show to the needs of the venue or event. His sets move fluidly between groove-driven blues, soulful ballads, roots-rock, and outlaw-country grit, creating a dynamic and audience-focused live experience.

Rooted in early inspirations from family mentors and shaped through formal training at PCC’s Professional Music Program and years of live performance, Sam delivers warm vocals, expressive guitar work, and honest, roots-driven songwriting. With a sound that honors American musical traditions while carving his own path, Sweet Sam Kisling continues to grow as one of the region’s standout Americana and roots artists.
